Each gas detector calibration kit includes a bottle of calibration gas (a secondary bottle can be added), a calibration adapter with tubing, a carrying case, and a standard fixed flow regulator for non-reactive gases. Stainless steel regulators for reactive gases and demand flow regulators for sample systems also are available when you order our calibration gas kits.
Over time, the sensors in gas detectors can drift, meaning their readings may become less accurate due to environmental conditions, aging, or exposure to high gas levels. Regular calibration adjusts the detector to account for these changes, verifying that it reads gas concentrations correctly. - Immediately prior to placing a gas detector in service
- Whenever a new sensor is installed
- Every six months for routine calibrations (more often if the sensor is known to have been exposed to gas for extended periods of time)
- Periodic bump tests are recommended to ensure correct operation if the detector has potentially been exposed to incompatible gases
